Caesar salad with smoked herring

  • 1 tsp (5 ml) lemon juice
  • 1 romaine lettuce, cut into pieces
  • 1 jar of marinated smoked herring (120 g)
  • 1 piece of Tomme des Demoiselles cheese, shredded (150 g)
  • ½ cup (125 ml) bread croutons
  • ½ cup (125 ml) of mayonaise
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) Parmesan, grated
  • 1 garlic clove finely chopped


  1. Mix the lettuce in a salad bowl with the croutons, cheese and a few pieces of herring
  2. Reserve
  3. In another bowl, mix the mayonnaise with the Parmesan cheese, garlic, lemon juice and herring oil
  4. Incorporate the contents of the second bowl into the first
  5. Stir well
